My family was very excited to try this restaurant since it is a locally owned business and had great reviews. We visited with our two small children on a Monday afternoon. There was a steady flow of customers. After waiting 35 minutes for our food, I asked the young female cashier about the status of our food. She said she would check and apologized. I asked if we could have any portion of the meal that was ready since our children were cranky and hungry. Unfortunately, this request was not fulfilled and we received our order 50 minutes later.
One of the sandwiches was made incorrectly and one of the items did not seem to have all of the ingredients so I asked if we could talk to a manger. I also heard the female employee ask about the sandwich and heard someone yelling at her about it in the back. I felt so badly this employee was getting yelled at. The manager came out looking very annoyed and said harshly, "what's the problem here." I explained the issues and asked that he stop being rude after our experience. This response made him escalate and he started yelling that he would not be treated like this and went to the back. There was no resolution offered for the long wait time or mistakes. All he did was explain the ticket never printed in the back and the order was rang in wrong. The manager did nothing to accept responsibility for his business. I fully understand mistakes happen and a business always has the opportunity to make it right. The owner was so aggressive in nature I thought we were going to have to call the police. After I said this he continued to shout rude comments from the back. I was even more shocked when I found out this individual
is indeed the owner! Quite a few customers witnessed the incident. A customer came up to our table and explained how she worked in the food service industry and suggested many different ways the owner could have handled the situation. I also worked in the food service industry and I agree this experience was appalling.
As a customer I have the opportunity to not return. However, I worry for the employees that have to work in such a hostile environment. If the owner acts this way in front of a crowd, I worry how he acts when no one is watching.
The food was pretty good and the concept is unique for the area. However, I would urge others to support local businesses which demonstrate a higher level of professionalism and integrity. I have never experienced such disrespect at a business before. -

Wow. This place is legit awesome. I've had Jibarito that were so greasy but this place is high quality. I got the crispy chicken Jibarito which was crunchy, savory and just so delicious.
We also got the tostones and they were crispy and so bomb!!
This is now only regular rotation list. I can't wait to try the other items on the menu. -

First time trying a Puerto Rican sandwich... it was absolutely delicious! I tried the Monday week day special which was Philly steak. You have a choice of getting your sandwich with a flatbread or plantain. I ordered two and chose both. They were both so tasty. I added sriracha sauce to my sandwiches cz I like it spicy. It was an amazing combo. You can't imagine what it would taste like just by looking at the visual, but I'd def.recommend giving it a try. It's a small, clean place with friendly service. Can't wait to go back and try all their sandwiches and things on the menu!
Tried the crispy chicken sandwich! Also very delicious! I love how simple yet filling these sandwiches are. After trying it for the second time, I think I enjoy the flatbread more than the plantains. The combo of the flatbread and the inside ingredients go so well together! -

Please go to jibarito are Harlem their sandwiches are on point. I never do reviews but this sandwich was terrible there was only one little piece of meat on my sandwich and the sandwich tasted old and greasy. I asked for extra garlic and I barely tasted it. The rice had no flavor and the meal was almost $14. I really don't know how his place had good reviews must be family and friends reviewing or you don't know a real jibarito city sandwich. Try jibaritos on Harlem it's not too far and you won't regret it. I only eat half of their sandwich and my daughter eats the other half and were full! Jibarito time please step your game up you're the only local Puerto Rican place in the burbs around!
